LEGO City Undercover

Go undercover in LEGO City as police officer Chase McCain as he tries to recapture Rex Fury, a villain that Chase McCain caught 2 years prior to the events of the game.  Some of the many areas that you infiltrate while undercover are: a Chinese chop-shop, an Italian Mafia, a space station, a bank, a museum, a fire station, a construction site, a mineshaft, and a farm.  While the other LEGO games are based on movies, comics, and television show properties, LEGO City Undercover is an entirely original plot based on the LEGO City theme of police, firefighters, construction workers, and civilians.  The locations in the city are all parodies of real life locations. For example the game has its very own Golden Gate Bridge, Yellowstone National Park, Alcatraz Island, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Grand Canal, and many others.
LEGO City Undercover has over 300 playable characters- most of those character fall into the police officer or criminal class and 120 playable vehicles.
Along with 300+ characters and the 120 or so vehicles, there are 450 gold bricks, depending on what edition it is there are 40 or 39 red bricks (on the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo Switch versions, there is a Mario Hat red brick that is not available on the PS4, X-Box 1, and PC versions), and there are so many side missions to do with all of the different character classes.

Even though the LEGO games are meant for people of all ages, many of the 1980s references will get lost on the kids.  Each level has several of these references, some can be very funny and others can be almost painful because of how obvious the pun is.  For example, in the mine level, there are several jokes about miners, as in music, baseball, military, and others.  LEGO City Undercover has its very own Morgan Freeman and Arnold Schwarzenegger characters. The Morgan Freeman character is a character that you meet in the LEGO City jail, and if you listen closely, you can hear another inmate make close to a dozen references to Morgan Freeman movies, including “Driving Ms. Daisy” “Shawshank Redemption”, and many others. The Arnold Schwarzenegger character is the construction foreman that you meet when you go to “borrow” a crane there. Some of the movies referenced there are: “The Expendables”, “Jingle all the Way”, and probably his most famous movie series of all time, “the Terminator” with the quote, “I’ll be back.”
